The Catalyst Blades by Princeton Artist Brush Co. compose an innovative new line of tools for artists. These blades are not quite brushes and not quite knives, but they function as both! They act as a texture rib, a throwing stick and a clean-up tool all in one! They are crafted from flexible silicone to allow artists a new form of expression. Catalyst Blades are mounted on artist brush handles offering a blend of tradition and innovation. The silicone is easy to wipe clean and is solvent resistant. Clean up in most cases can be done with mild soap and water. Catalyst blades can even be separated from their wood handles for cleaning and easily replaced when dry.

These blades are great for wheel-throwing and for use with slabs. However, they are not just functional in ceramics! They can be used with heavy-bodied paints, including oils, acrylics, and water-miscible oils. Because they are heat-resistant, they excel with encaustics. Artists are using them with plaster, clay, and even frosting. Made of FDA-approved silicone, Catalyst Blades are great for food crafting.
