North Star 4" Geometric Die

The North Star Geometric Shapes Die is intended for use with any 4" North Star extruder. This die can make any of four different geometric shapes, including a 1" solid octagon, a 1" solid star, a 1" solid triangle, and a 1.25" solid oval. Use of this item requires a die mask, which is also included in the package.

The North Star Handle Die is made from ½" thick HDPE Polyethylene Plastic, which means that it won’t rust or oxidize over time.

About North Star Extruder dies:
All North Star 4" extruder dies have been cut to perfection on a CNC mill. These wear-resistant and completely non-contaminating dies will be a great addition to your studio or classroom -- each die cavity is beveled to compact the clay as it passes through, delivering a crisper, more solid extrusion. In the North Star hollow dies, there is a bevel on both the interior and exterior portions under each side of the bracket (which holds the center part of the hollow dies) that helps the extrusion to ‘heal’ after it has been cut apart by the bracket. This bracket fits into a slot machined at the top of each hollow die, and is held in place by the barrel of the extruder. If a hollow die is mounted in place, the center part of the die is in exactly the right place and the wall thickness will automatically be even the whole way around. In general, the walls of extrusions 3.5" OD or less are ¼" thick, while larger pieces have 5/16" walls. North Star carries a wide variety of 4" dies.
