The Bringle Tool was created by Cynthia Bringle while she was a student at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. As she moved between the woodshop and the clay studio, she refined the prototype of this tool with each visit. Eventually, the tool was perfected! Over the years, many woodworkers have shaped it, pottery students have sketched it in their notebooks, and numerous people have come to refer to it as the "Bringle Magic Tool."

Cynthia Bringle is a prolific potter, teacher, and mentor. Since the 1960s, she has been working with clay and has inspired numerous ceramicists through her willingness to share her work and expertise at Penland School of Crafts, workshops at prominent craft schools around the world, and in her own pottery studio.
