Standard's 257 is a porcelain body with a parian like quality. Very white, tight, and transluscent when thin. Contains no ball clay. Image shows the porcelain fired to Cone 10 oxidation (left) and Cone 10 reduction (right).

Shrinkage: 13% at C/8, 15% at C/10.
Absorption: 1% at C/8, .65% at C/10.
