Brushing Medium is typically added to glazes in order to lengthen the drying time after a glaze is brushed onto a bisqued pot and to aid in glaze suspension. It is ideal if you are trying to apply a dipping or spraying glaze with a brush. The amount of Brushing Medium used depends on the other substances involved. Added to powdered glazes it produces a brushing consistency for smoother and even application.
Use approximately 5.5 grams for each pound of dry glaze powder.
Brushing medium can also be added to slips and underglazes to enhance brushability.
Directions for adding to The Ceramic Shop 8oz Pro Series Glazes:
Add 1/4 teaspoon of dry brushing medium (approximately 3 grams) directly to the 8oz jar and shake vigorously for 1 min and allow to sit overnight.
For best results sieve through a 60 or 80 mesh screen.

Brushing medium is an organic additive and may grow bactieria and mold over time. Mix in small batches and use within 7-10 days.
