The Dragonfly is equipped with a Classic Pear-shaped trimming blade made from tungsten carbide, a material known for its durability and precision. Each blade is factory-sharpened to provide optimal cutting performance right out of the box. Tungsten carbide is an extremely hard material that maintains its sharpness even after extensive use, making it effective for trimming heavy, grogged clay.
The Classic Pear profile features a large, rounded main shape that tapers toward a smaller radius. The top edge is a wide, straight surface, which is ideal for trimming the sides of larger pieces. The two rounded radii easily adapt to a variety of curves.
Although this blade is built to last, it will eventually wear out and can be resharpened using a diamond file or rotary bit. To reset the cutting edge, grind or sand the inside face of the blade. Keep in mind that tungsten carbide can be brittle; if dropped, the blade may break, so handle it with care and store the tool safely.
