Blue Green Velvet Underglaze is a teal color that is deep aqua at cone 05, darkens at cone 5, and becomes a dark marine blue at cone 10. A clear glaze deepens the color of the underglaze significantly at any temperature.

Saturated color, dependability, and versatility make Velvets as popular for professionals as they are for children. Velvets fire true-to-color as a Cone 05/06 underglaze or fired to Cone 6. Some colors remain true as high as Cone 10. Try two finish possibilities: When left unglazed these colors have the rich textural appearance of velvet; when covered with AMACO Clear Transparent Matte or Clear Gloss they intensify in color. Can be easily applied to wet clay, greenware, or mature Cone 04 bisque (1971F / 1077C).

When dipped or coated with a clear glaze they are dinnerware safe. We also have a Sepctrum Clear that fires to Cone 10, available in gallon or pint size. Note: Some of the underglazes, like 318, 320, 371 and 375, will change color when fired above Cone 5, best to do test tiles to achieve best results.
