Plaster Sprig Molds
Plaster Sprig Molds are long-lasting molds used for adding pre-made designs to handbuilt or wheel-thrown clay pieces. These sprigs, also known as press molds, clay molds or pottery molds, are detailed and for decorative use. Clay is pressed into the mold, and because the sprig mold is made of plaster, water is absorbed from the clay by the plaster, allowing for easy release. Once the clay is released and in a leather hard stage, the sprig can be attached to another clay object, adding a dimensional effect, or used as a piece on its own.
Plaster sprig molds are available in many designs and are great for both the classroom and professional pottery studio.
