Our most popular glaze! The Ceramic Shop's Cone 6 Professional Series Crocus Red Glaze is an opaque glaze with rich red hues that can go from burgundy to macintosh apple. When fired to cone 7 or held at peak temperature, this glaze will get flecks of purple and flame orange colors. It also interacts with other glazes beautifully. We recommend applying by dipping or spraying, but brushing will also work. If brushing, consider adding a bit of brushing medium to the glaze first.
All of The Ceramic Shop dry glazes include instructions for mixing with water. One pound of glaze yields one pint of wet glaze. 25- 30 lbs dry glaze is recommended to yield a 5 gallon bucket of wet glaze.
Our Cone 6 glazes have been used in studios and schools for over ten years. All glazes are lead free, non-toxic and conform to ASTDM 4236 standards. Glazes are made per order so please call ahead when picking up at our store.
