This is a best seller! Fired to Cone 6 in oxidation this glaze still amazes us with new results in every firing. Magic achieves a variety of colors ranging from black, dark blues, greens to rich orange, speckled browns and cream. This glaze works well on stoneware clay, especially buff and tan colored clays. Magic can run on porcelain if applied too thick, but a single thin application will yield warm caramel colors wherever it breaks. It truely is a magic glaze! All of The Ceramic Shop glazes come dry mixed, you add the water. Recommended application is dipping or spraying.
All of The Ceramic Shop glazes come dry mixed and include instructions for mixing with water. One pound of dry glaze yields one pint of wet glaze, 6lbs dry will make 1 gallon of wet glaze and 25- 30 lbs dry glaze is recommended to yield a 5 gallon bucket of wet glaze. We recommend applying this glaze by dipping or spraying but brushing will also work.
Our Cone 6 glazes have been used in studios and schools for over ten years. All glazes are lead free, non-toxic and conform to ASTDM 4236 standards. Glazes are made per order so please call ahead when picking up at our store.
