Yumi is a Japanese term for bow. This bamboo yumi tool has a thin, taut wire in between the bamboo strips that functions as a stable wire cutter tool. Because it is pulled tightly and remains straight, this tool is often preferred over longer wires that bend and cut unevenly. Use this tool when cutting off the rims of uneven pots still on the wheel head. Also great for use as a faceting tool! Additionally, this yumi tool is great for creating even, bevelled edges on slabs of moist or leather hard clay.
This yumi tool measures 3.25" across (the length of the wire) and is 5" long.
Use for trimming off uneven rims or to create flat sides on round objects.
