The Versa Bat throwing system has been on the Market since the mid 90's. It was Designed by Tim Pfinner from Great Lakes Clays. The beauty of this system is how fast you can insert your medex bats on the wheel. The medex wicks water out of the bottom of your form and you may not even need to wire off your pieces.
The medex bats are very inexpensive making them a good solution to production pottery. Obviously the square form saves shelf space.
No other square throwing system offers 2 sizes in one. Flip the plastic part so you can use the other size bat.

The Versa-Bat System includes a Permanent Master Bat, three 6"and three 8" removable bats. Indestructible unit that’s easy to use! Choose the holes on the Master bat that fit your batpins and place on the wheelhead. To use the 8"bat, make sure the 8" square is facing up. When switching to the 6" bat, simply flip the unit over. When your piece is finished, insert a flat tool in the slot to pry off the removable bat. All 6" and 8" bats are made of 3/8" Medex®. Additional bat inserts available separately below.
The Versa-BatTM System fits Brent, Shimpo, Pacifica, Soldner, Creative Industries. This product fits all wheelheads that have one of the following bat pin configurations:
10" on Center, 3/8 Dia. Pins (Brent, Pacifica, Soldner)
10" on Center, 10 mm Dia. Pins
9" on Center, 3/8" Dia. Pins (Creative Industries).
10 Year Warranty on Master unit with normal usage.
