Engobes are a clay slip colored with oxides or other pigments. These engobes come in dry form and mix with water for easy application and control of color. Brush them on, or get detailed with a sgraffito carving in to the clay and then filling with engobes. Engobes are dinnerware safe when they are fired with a dinnerware safe clear glaze coating.
