Shipping Policies 

Within the Continental USA: 

Shipping Damages:

We take great care in packing your orders, however damages can occurred in shipping. All products kilns, wheels, equipment, hydro-bats leave our dock in perfect condition, but it is essential you inspect your order immediately after receiving it. You have up to 3 days to inform us or the shipper of any UPS damages. In the event that a damage does occur, The Ceramic Shop will file a damage claim with the carrier. UPS may require an inspection of the damages for items exceeding $100, so please hold onto the original box and packing materials for 7 business days. If you are receiving your order by freight, you may ask the driver to wait while you inspect the kiln or wheel. We have chosen carriers who are very safe with your items but always inspect your delivery. You should also take a look at the packing list to make sure the order is correct. By signing the BOL (Bill of Lading) you are waving your rights to claim any damages in the future. If you suspect damages (for instance, if you saw a small puncture in the side of the box or a corner crushed) you can reserve the right to inspect the box later by simply indicating on the bill of lading that you were unable to inspect at time of delivery, damages may have occurred but are unseen until further inspection. If you deny any shipment, and have the box returned and there is NO damages to be found, you will be responsible for any additional handling fee's as well as return shipping costs. Do not deny shipment unless you have inspected the contents and can prove damages. 

International Shipping:

We do ship to Europe and all over the world. If you want a shipping quote for your order, build your order online and add it to a LIST. Contact us and we can look up your list and email you a shipping cost. For larger items such as kilns and equipment call for a shipping quote. We do use accept Pay Pal and this is an easy way to take care of shipping charges. Important to understand: All import duties, taxes, and any other shipping fees are the responsibility of you the cosignee. Sometimes the taxes are included in the shipping charges and other times your Countries Customs office will hold your shipment for fees. Any import fees are not The Ceramic Shop's Responsibility.  

Choosing the right shipping method for your order:

We offer multiple shipping options. Please make sure your order qualifies for free freight shipping before selecting the "free shipping" method. Failure to choose the accurate shipping method will result to a delayed shipment of your order. 

Pick Up In Store:

Choosing this option allows you to convenietly shop and pay for your items online and pick up your order in our walk-in showroom at your convenience. We will contact you by email when the order is ready for pick up. Our store hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.

The Ceramic Shop Truck Delivery: Flat Rate

The Ceramic Shop Delivery Truck can deliver up to 9,000 lbs per delivery. As of 2012 we now have 2 delivery trucks one is 10' and has a 3,000lb limit, the other is 16' with a commercial lift gate. The minimum order for our truck delivery is $300. Shipping charges for local customers in Philadelphia will remain only $20. Outside the Philadelphia area up to 1 hour will cost $29.00, over 1 hour will cost $59. Customers located more than 2 hours away or ordering less than $300 worth of material should call for rates.   

Freight Truck Delivery: Items with this icon will ship on a commercial truck LTL. Please let us know if a lift gate will be needed. Lift gates allow heavy shipments to be lowered to the ground. Most freight company drivers will not bring the shipments in to your home or building. 

 Free Freight Truck Delivery: Front loading kilns with this icon in the item description ship on a common carrier truck within the US for FREE and does not include lift gate service. Do not choose this option unless your item has this icon in the description. Hydrobats do not qualify for free shipping.  If you require a lift gate for your delivery, we charge a flat fee of $40. The lift gate allows heavy deliveries to be lowered to the ground and are typically required for all residential deliveries. If you have a loading dock at your school, studio, or business you may not need one. Please contact us if you have any questions about your delivery options and additional services. To request the lift gate service please mention it in the order comments, or give us a call. Free Freight applies to Continental USA. Additional charges for Hawaii, Alaska, etc.

 L&L Kilns Freight Delivery: Orders for L&L Kilns ship for a flat fee of $99. If you are within 2 hours of Philadelphia we can also install the kiln for you! Please see our general policies page for kiln installation and set up options.  

 UPS Ground Shipping: Items with this icon ship for free, usually with UPS Ground. UPS does not guarantee ship dates. If you need faster service or even overnite delivery, call and we can rush your order for an additional charge. There will be additional charges for Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada. Call us today and we can give a shipping quote.

 Factory Direct Freight Shipping: Items with this icon ship direct from the manufacturers factory. This will typically be the case with large equipment like pug mills, front loading kilns, gas kilns, etc. Items shipped directly from the manufacturer are often made to order and may take 1-4 weeks before shipment.

USPS Flat Rate Shipping: Items with this icon indicate they can fit in a USPS Flat Rate Box. If you are buying small tools like: rubber ribs, trim tools, mason stains, or even small kiln parts, we can ship them in a $5.35 Flate Rate box. Items must be under 5lbs and fit into a rectangular flat rate box size 8 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8".

**The flate rate shipping option is not available for online orders, but we will gladly take your order over the phone! To place an order for flat rate shipping simply contact us at 215-427-9665. Small orders placed online will ship with Ups ground.**
