Production Finisher Currently available!

The Production Technician provides essential support to the manufacturing team by preparing the raw materials that go into the manufacturing process, ensuring product quality during production, and handling the product during and after the manufacturing process. An ideal candidate would be a self-motivated and hard worker, with great time management skills. The position requires a considerable amount of physical activity and an eligible candidate must be able to regularly lift 50lbs throughout a given day. Ceramics experience is a plus but not a requirement.

Core Responsibilities include: Loading and unloading high volumes of product from the production kilns, Quality control on unfired product (trimming, cleaning, and rejecting defects prior to firing), Reporting low inventory on raw materials in a timely manner to Wholesale Manager/ Materials Purchaser, and Other responsibilities that may be added or modified as the position requires.


-- Must be able to life at least 50 lbs. This is a ceramic supply company where many of our products are fired in 40-60lb boxes.

-- Must have a sharp eye for detail

-- Must be good at working independently with little supervision.

Glaze Technician Currently not available

We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to fill an opening for a glaze lab technician in our newly renovated state-of-the-art Norristown building. The Glaze Lab Technician will be responsible for maintaining order, safety, and cleanliness in the lab at all times, mixing batch glazes, keeping stock of in-house products, and closely working with the web and school department to fulfill incoming orders. The right candidate will be an excellent multitasker and problem solver.

3+ years experience working with ceramic materials, OR a bachelors/ Masters degree in arts is highly desired. You MUST have experience working with ceramics for this job. This is a full time position.

Delivery Driver Currently not available

Our busy company is currently looking for a team player to fill the position of Delivery Driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Must be able to drive 16' box truck up to a 24' truck with a lift gate. We will provide training to the right person who can demonstrate motivation and a willingness to learn. Looking for a responsible, thoughtful and strong, individual who can build an order and deliver to local schools and individuals. 90% of the deliveries are within 2 hours of Norristown and involve lifting 50lb clay boxes. Great communication skills necessary. No experience needed with ceramic supplies

Part Time Inventory Manager Currently not available

The Ceramic Shop currently has a job opening for a part-time Inventory Manager. This flexible, back-of-the-house position could be a great opportunity for someone looking to work two to three days per week, with the possibility for extended hours over time.

Main duties:
-- Check in new shipments and compare packing lists against purchase orders. Resolve any discrepancies that may arise.
-- Update inventory in our POS system and periodically spot-check to maintain accuracy.
-- Communicate with department buyers about the status of orders and inventory
-- Note any transit-based product damage and resolve with manufacturers
-- Unpack and merchandise or stock checked-in products

-- Must be able to life at least 50 lbs. This is a ceramic supply company where many of our products are delivered in 50-lb. bags or boxes.

The Ceramic Shop in Philadelphia is seeking an energetic and eager individual to lead the retail sales team of our quickly-expanding business. If you have a penchant for pottery and people, this could be the job for you!

The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications:
-- A minimum of 2 years sales experience is a must. This is primarily a retail position that will require knowledge of working a POS system, (training provided on our system) completing orders, and upkeeping inventory, keeping the showroom clean and organized.
-- Excellent customer service skills -- this job requires dealing with customers all day, from phone calls to emails to in-person sales. We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing person to help our customers with all of their ceramic needs!
-- Knowledge of ceramic materials and procedures. Preferably the applicant will have a bachelor’s degree in the arts with a focus in ceramics. You will be answering questions about various ceramic products -- clays, glazes, tools, and equipment -- on a daily basis. Coming into the job with some working knowledge will be a huge benefit however a full training will be provided.
-- Ability to lift 50 lbs. We are a ceramic supply company that supplies our customers with 50 lb boxes of clay and dry material.  Be prepared to move material on a daily basis.
-- Able to work 5 days a week. Required coverage hours are Tuesday through Friday 8:30am-4:30PM and Saturday 10AM-4PM.
