In this department you will find a variety of spring mold options. Sprig molds, or press molds, are molds used to create decorative additions to your ceramic ware. They are available in many designs including flowers, animals, geometric shapes, and more. Sprig molds can also be used to create handles and feet, allowing for perfect reproductions every time.
To use a sprig mold, simply press an evenly-rolled slab of clay into the mold. Allow the clay to harden slightly, and then invert the mold to release. Sprig molds come in wood, plaster or ceramic forms. Each has its own advantages, but all are equally fun! The material used to create the sprig mold will impact how well the sprig (or impressed clay) is released, and the detail that can be achieved. For instance, you will find that small plaster sprig molds will release clay almost immediately, while larger wooden ones may take a bit more time. We suggest trying all different types to find out which is best for you!
